GCC’s partnership with Elms College allows students with an associate’s degree to complete a bachelor’s degree in Greenfield, or online!

This program allows students with an associate’s degree to complete a Bachelor of Science in Social Work in a 20-month, Saturday-only program.

The Elms College bachelor’s degree completion program offered at GCC meets all general requirements of Elms College. You enter this program with the required associate’s degree, satisfy Elms’ core requirements, and complete the requirements of your specific degree program. Essentially, you earn a degree from a private institution in a location convenient to you.

Classes are held at GCC. By completing your coursework in a 20-month period, you can save thousands of dollars by completing your degree in this uniquely affordable program.

Please note this is a cohort program, meaning students are accepted into the program once per year. 

Program acceptance is beginning again for a new cohort for Fall of 2014. Don’t miss your chance to file your application and materials early to reserve your spot! Drop-in informational sessions are available every Saturday from 10:00am-12:00pm in the East Building with the Program Coordinator, Kristine Somers Gomes. These are informal meetings to learn what the requirements are to be accepted. Bring your unofficial transcript with you! You may also schedule an individual appointment as well by contacting the program coordinator.

This program allows students with an associate’s degree to complete a Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology Assistant in a 22-month, 60 credits, online-only program. A Speech Language Pathology Assistant Certificate is another option for 2014-2016 in a 22-month, 36 credits, online-only program.

The Elms College bachelor’s degree and certificate completion program offered by Elms College and GCC as an online delivery method meets all general requirements of Elms College. You enter this program with the required associate’s degree, satisfy Elms’ core requirements, and complete the requirements of your specific degree program. By completing your coursework in a 22-month period, you can save thousands of dollars by completing your degree in this uniquely affordable program.

The Elms College Online SLPA programs use student forums to help student interact with their classmates and discuss important information from the class with fellow students. This method of connection has several advantages over in class communications. Computer based connections also allow students to work wherever they want and whenever they want. The program has an additional feature as well, offering real time interaction with the instructors. These weekly meetings allow students and instructors to meet to exchange ideas and respond to questions. Instructors can interact directly with their students. The meetings are recorded as well, so that students can review them at their leisure and for further review as a resource.

Requirements for employment as Speech Language Pathology Assistant vary widely by state and are not determined by the American Speech-Language hearing Association. Applicants must check the requirements for employment as an SLPA in the state in which they plan to work. If you have any questions about which degree or credential best meets your needs, please contact the Coordinator.
