GCC ScholarshipsOutside Scholarships

The BIT Department awards annual scholarships every spring to current students through the Greenfield Community College Foundation. BIT students can apply for these awards online when applying for GCC Foundation Scholarships (application is generally available in February). Awards range from $500-$1000.

Barbara Hannon Bourne Award
Established by the Hannon family to provide a scholarship for an outstanding student in Business or a Business - related major. Recipients must be Franklin County residents and graduate of a Franklin County public high school.

Richard L. Holbrook, Jr. Scholarship
The Holbrook Scholarship was established to provide a scholarship to a student who has interest in pursuing a business - relat ed degree and has successfully completed at least one semester. The recipient must have a strong academic record and financial need. The award will be used to help pay the student's tuition and fees, with the amount sent directly to the GCC Business Offi ce.

William & Patricia Jolicoeur Scholarship
The Jolicoeur Scholarship was established for a student who will be entering his/her second year at GCC or who has successfully completed at least two semesters and who has interest in pursuing a business - related degree. This award requires that the recipient has some exposure to free market economic theory during the course of their education at GCC. The award will be used to help pay the student's tuition and fees, with the amount sent direct ly to the GCC Business Office.

Melanson Heath Accounting Scholarship
The Melanson Heath Accountants·Auditors scholarship program was established to provide scholarships to i ndividuals pursuing a Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in Accounting. A scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to a deserving GCC student hoping to find a career in public accounting and who also share s in Melanson Heath’s core values of honesty, kindness, fairness, perseverance, bravery and judgment. This award will be disbursed to the GCC Bursar's Office or transfer institution upon proof of attendance at the transfer institution.

Russel B. Wilkes Memorial Scholarship
The Russel B. Wilkes Memorial Scholarship was established to honor Mr. Wilkes who was a director of the Greenfield Community College Foundation. Students in the Business and Information Technology programs who are full - time and have demonstrated outstanding work in the areas of business are encouraged to apply.
