Civic Engagement Advisory Board (CEAB)

The mission of the Civic Engagement Advisory Board is to bring together community partners in collaboration with Greenfield Community College to advise and develop community-based civic experiences for Greenfield students and to benefit the community through student involvement and joint activities. The Board will play an important role in guiding civic engagement and community-based service learning activities to help students put into practice the fundamental concepts of good citizenship in American democracy.

Goals

  • To help the college define appropriate service learning, internships, and project-based experiences which offer opportunities for students to be immersed in the workings of the organization and to be part of the role the agency plays in the community and our democracy;
  • To identify civic engagement, service learning, internships, and project-based options for students in the community and to facilitate student engagement in these opportunities;
  • To build connections to the community to assist the College in carrying out its public mission and that help the organizations advance their goals in the community
