You're running a company in western New England.
What are your needs and concerns?

You hear a lot of talk lately about competitiveness and how we can make our businesses grow, regionally, nationally and internationally. We believe that a well-trained workforce is the single most important factor in making your business thrive and expand. That includes:

  • Training for your entry level employees: basic skills in language, math and/or computers
  • Job enhancement workshops: second-step courses and workshops for employees who want to progress within the company
  • Industry related workshops: on-going or one-time-only workshops to update your employees in the latest technological advances in your particular industry, whether it be cutting tool, insurance or . . .

How can the Office for Resource and Workforce Development help?

  • Customized courses: Think of us as a college without walls. We will assess your training needs and, using our own faculty or special consultants, design a course or workshop that specifically addresses those needs. You choose the time, you choose the place—we'll be there!
  • Certificate programs: We can develop a certificate program for your employees that will incorporate regular Greenfield Community College courses as well as skills-related courses required by your industry or company. Certificate programs may run for one semester, during the regular school year, or during the summer, day-time or evening.
  • Personal enrichment courses: As businesses increasingly compete for workers, enrichment courses can be a valuable "perk" that makes the difference in your employee benefit package.

Where do you start?

The first step is to contact the Office for Resource and Workforce Development in the Division of Community Services at Greenfield Community College. Director Nancy Bair will listen to your problems, your concerns and your needs for your business, and work with you to develop a program that addresses your training and education goals.
