2006 Abigail Adams Eliot for Outstanding Service to Young Children in Franklin County.

The Franklin County Collaboration for Children and Greenfield Community College are seeking nominations for the Abigail Adams Elliot Award for Spring 2007. This award seeks to recognize an individual working directly with children ages 0-5 in the field of early childhood education who has made an exemplary contribution to young children and their families in Franklin County. This award is open to nominations from the public and will be judged by a panel of local citizens and early childhood professionals. Nominations may be submitted by parents, early childhood practitioners or other community members.

Award Qualifications
The nominee must be currently working, or have worked, with young children 0-5 years of age in an Early Childhood classroom or family child care setting in Franklin County and have significantly affected the lives of children, families, and/or the community.
The deadline for submissions is March 26, 2007.

Tthe award will be presented at the Educational Forum on Friday, April 27th from 8:30-11:30 am at Bill’s Restaurant Banquet Hall in Greenfield. The Topic will be “The Relationship between Adverse Childhood Experiences and Adult Health” and is cosponsored by Greenfield Community College, Franklin Medical Center, Montague Social Ministries, the Franklin Area Community Partnerships for Children and Community Action.
