Anthropology applies knowledge of basic anthropological theories, concepts, and methods of investigation to the study of human culture and biology, recognizing the evolutionary development of the human species as an integral part of the total world ecological system and providing descriptions of different ways people around the world, past and present, interact with each other and their environment.

Economics focuses on the study of the American and global economy to critically evaluate economic processes and outcomes. Economics uses basic economic theory and models to make predictions and to analyze alternative economic policy options.

Human Ecology promotes the development of basic literacy in evolution from the birth of the universe to contemporary life on earth. Students learn to understand basic characteristics of ecosystems and ecological problems to recognize the relationship between humans and their social and natural communities.

Political Science is the study of political institutions and processes of different types of government. Political science courses introduce students to the methods, approaches, and theories used in studying the dynamics of politics and power at work in the modern world.

Peace and Social Justice promotes an understanding of the concepts of peace and conflict through the lens of cultural differences, scarce resources, economic and social structures, international trade, the arms race, oppression, power and war.

The study of psychology demonstrates basic knowledge about human behavior from a variety of psychological perspectives, including neuroscience, sociocultural, gender, developmental, cognitive, behaviorist, psychodynamic and humanistic and develops an understanding of the possibilities and limitations of each perspective.

Women's Studies offers women and men an opportunity to understand various disciplines from the perspective of women and gender within the framework of the traditional skills and content of a liberal arts education. Women's Studies poses these and other questions: Women’s Studies poses these questions: How is gender socially constructed? How do women’s studies courses promote an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the academic disciplines? What do we mean by feminisms? How do cultural institutions influence men and women’s lives today and in the past? How do we identify the multiplicity of identity perspectives and evaluate those perspectives from feminist standpoint? How do multiple identities influence popular culture, language, violence, racism, politics and government, the family, education, work, intimacy, morality, knowledge, literature, ecology and religion and spirituality?
