Political Science is the study of political institutions and processes of different types of government. Political science courses introduce students to the methods, approaches, and theories used in studying the dynamics of politics and power at work in the modern world; the value and necessity of diversity in the democratic political process and the nature of conflict and the role politics plays in mitigating the negative consequences of conflict. Finally students in political science courses begin to understand how human rights and economic interdependence are key concepts that determine regional and global political stability.
