Moodle Course Shells for Summer & Fall 2014 Available

Courses that have been added to Banner and assigned an instructor will appear in Moodle.  If you do not see your course when you log in, please contact the administrative assistant for your area.  It is possible you have not been assigned the course in Banner.  Students will be loaded into courses the week prior to the start of classes every semester.

If you want content from an existing Moodle course copied into a shell for the upcoming semesters or you want a Meta course*, please complete the “Online Request Form.”  These requests are reviewed on a first-come-first-serve basis.  It is important to submit your requests via this form so they can be tracked.

Link to the request form:;   the link to the request form is also available at the top of your Moodle homepage once you log in (see screenshot below.)

*What is a Meta course?  A Meta course links students from multiple sections of a course into one Moodle course.  Course content is viewable by students.  Example: ENG 090 has three sections taught by the same instructor.   All three sections will be using the same text, reading the same articles, have the same assignments and will be required to post to the same Journal prompts. With students from these three sections in one course, you post content only once.

Consider grouping students by their registration section in your Meta course.  Setting up groups makes it easier to manage the Meta course.  If you use discussions or any graded activity within Moodle, creating groups makes reviewing and grading the activity manageable.  For information on setting up groups in Moodle, contact a member of FITS (Faculty Instructional Technology Support group) at

Moodle v2.5 is coming

Students Cannot See Content Uploaded into Moodle

Make certain the eye to the right of the module is open AND the eye for the file is open, too.

The content and the closed eye may be shaded out when you open the eye to the module.  That’s OK.  Click on the closed eye for the content anyway.  The content will become available and the additional functions for the item will become active.   Hide and Unhide Content Uploaded into Moodle
