Walking the Talk for Racial Justice: A Youth Conference

Walking the Talk for Racial Justice: A Youth Conference

A free conference in partnership with The Academy at Charlemont that aims to mobilize all young people to create more inclusive communities. In a collaborative space of academics and anti-racism activists, participants will have the opportunity to discover their own role in creating a racially equitable society. Breakout sessions will explore issues of concern including
mass incarceration/prison industrial complex; the militarization of the police force; white privilege/implicit bias; Islamophobia; racism in the LGBTQ+ community; daily experience of people of color in a predominantly white/rural area; intersection of immigration policy and racism; racism in our systems of education; and overall systemic racism. Featuring keynote speaker Anika Nailah. More information and online registration at http://www.charlemont.org/events/walk-talk-racial-justice-youth-conference.
