Entitled, rude and recalcitrant students?
Posted on Thursday March 31st 2011
Are today’s students more rude? Can faculty evict disruptive students? Do students have an inflated sense of entitlement? How do faculty engage students to understand their responsibility to the classroom learning community, whether online or face to face and to the effort it takes to be an academically engaged student? Several authors explore these issues. Elayne Clift writes about sense of entitlement. Should profs leave unruly classes is also explored after several incidents are videotaped in Fall 2010. Can cyberbullies be held accountable is also explored.
