Faculty Workload: Are you working hard enough?

Faculty workloads have once again been in the news. A story in the Washington Posts, by David Levy suggests that faculty don’t work hard. Yet, other bloggers and news stories have more clearly documented faculty workload and the weak wages paid to faculty in most colleges. Yes Faculty Members Work hard, according to author Grossman. Since Montgomery College was mentioned, Jill Krondstadt, professor of English at MC, wrote And the living is Easy? Recent state by state analysis of the salary issues by the NEA, National Education Association, shows pay for faculty in MA community Colleges falling further behind. Finally, when faculty pay in the US is compared with faculty pay around the world, Canada and European countries pay faculty better.
