Assessment Strategies presented on 9/1/11, Backward Design-Presentation Handout and Activities The Best Designs for LearningWorkPackage describles a five step model for backwards design of course materials and other activities were also presented. The references for PD sept 1 from professional day were also provided. Karin Moyano Camihort from the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Massachusetts led workshop and introduced the  main ideas of the Backward Design (BD) framework with a special focus on the practical matters of course design and outcomes assessment. The workshop and handouts provide you with valuable resources for developing curricula and assessments aimed at deepening students’ learning.

Commonwealth of Massachusetts Vision Project:  Provides information about the purpose, goals and guidelines for assessment  under the leadership of Dr. Richard Freeland and policy advisors, regarding the MA college and university system.
