Welcome to the Financial Aid Office.
To help all students attend the college, GCC offers assistance to
students with demonstrated financial need. Financial aid usually
includes a combination of gift aid and self-help aid. Gift aid does
not need to be repaid and includes such awards as grants and scholarships.
Self-help aid includes such awards as loans, which must be repaid,
and on-campus or off-campus jobs. Financial aid funds come from
various federal, state, and private sources.
A copy of the Federal Student Aid Handbook containing regulations
concerning student consumer information is available in the Financial
Aid Office, many high school guidance offices, or on the internet
in the Guide to Federal Student Aid from the U.S. Department of Education.
