We've selected a score of scholarship providers here for you to check out. And we've divided them into three groups by their area of coverage: National, New England and Regional, and Local. We've also include web sites that offer free scholarship searches. In many instances you can get more information through the website that's listed, and/or from the Financial Aid Office here at GCC. When possible, we've listed a deadline, too.

National Scholarships

American Association of University Women
Various scholarships available for women of all ages and areas of study. Deadline varies.

American Chemical Society ACS Scholars Program
Awards available for students who want to enter the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or other chemically related fields such as environmental science, materials science, or toxicology. Applicants must be African American, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian. Applications available in the Financial Aid Office, or at http://www.chemistry.org/scholars.
Deadline: February 15, annually

Art Institute of Boston
Merit scholarship for art students who have earned an associate's degree.
Deadline: July, annually

Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest

48 cash award prizes for the winning essays that demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the philosophic meaning of Ayn Rand's novel Atlast Shrugged.

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship
For undergrads planning to do post-grad study in mathematics, science and engineering.

Daughters of the American Revolution
For nursing/medical students and students from other various areas of study; letter of sponsorship from your local chapter is required.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
For full-time students of Hispanic background who have earned at least 15 credits.
Deadline: October

Integrity Graphics, Inc.
For students studying in graphic arts communication fields.

The Morris K. Udall Foundation
Merit Awards for two (2) student groups:
1. Students who study in the environmental and related fields
2. Native American and Alaska Natives who study fields related to health care or tribal policy. Fall application process. Info available at www.udall.gov.

Naomi Brack Scholarship

National Federation of the Blind
Substantial awards for high achieving legally blind students. 2003 NFB scholarship forms available in Financial Aid office.

National Italian American Scholarship Foundation
Italian American students and/or Italian study majors are eligible. Applications are available online at http://www.niaf.org/scholarships/index.asp.

National Society of Accountants Scholarships
Undergraduate accounting students are eligible to apply. Applications available in the Financial Aid Office.

Native American Scholarship Fund

The Sallie Mae Fund
For minority and low-income students.

Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund
Open to full-time and part-time female students in all areas of study. Applications available in the Financial Aid office as well as at all Talbot store locations and online at the Talbots web site.

USAFUNDS Access to Education Scholarships
All areas of study are eligible. Full-time and half-time students are eligible to apply. Applications are available online at www.usafunds.org.
