Why does GCC use Gmail?

Many students already have Gmail accounts, so GCC Gmail accounts will make your email experience much easier.  Gmail allows you 30GB of storage space vs. 1GB at GCC. And you are also able to use many of the great features of Gmail.

Do I have to use Gmail?

Yes.  All official GCC correspondence from Financial Aid, Registrar, Advising Center and other departments will be sent to your GCC Gmail account.

What if I already have a Gmail account?

Google provides multiple ways to link your GCC email address with an existing Gmail account.

How do I access my GCC email through Gmail?

You can access your GCC email by going to GCC’s email login page or going directly to gmail.com.

If you use GCC’s login page, your username is the part of your email address that comes directly before the @ symbol.

If you login at gmail.com, you will need to use your full GCC email address. (If you are already logged into a Gmail account in your browser, you will need to either log out of your personal account in order to log into your GCC email. Or you can follow these instructions for signing into multiple accounts at once: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/1721977?hl=en&ref_topic=1669030.)

What is my email address?

What is my password?

How can I download Gmail to my smartphone?

Yes. You will first need to log into your student Gmail account and go to Settings -> Forwarding and POP/IMAP in order to enable IMAP. Once you’ve done this, when adding a new mail account on an iOS device be sure to choose “Gmail” instead of “Other” as the type of account.
