Moodle Requests

Importing Content from One Course to Another

Faculty can import contents from other classrooms (where they are teacher or contributor) without the assistance of TLIC staff. They can use the “Import” function or the “Sharing cart” block.

Faculty who realize they imported the wrong course, can follow these steps to reset their course (you will be promoted to log on to Moodle).

Faculty may request TLIC staff perform the imports using the Moodle Classroom Import Request form (you must be logged on to your GCC email account and your email address will automatically be collected). We perform these imports two weeks prior to the beginning of class.

Requesting a Moodle Classroom

The Moodle classrooms in which students are enrolled (through Banner) are created automatically. Teachers will have access as soon as they are assigned the course in Banner.

Metacourses (which combine the enrollments of multiple Banner classrooms) must be created by TLIC staff. “Under Construction” classrooms for faculty to develop and test materials. Faculty and staff can also request Moodle classrooms for other purposes–such as a club.. Any of these types of courses or Moodle classrooms that are not associated with Banner enrollments can be requested using the Moodle Classroom Request form (you must be logged on to your GCC email account and your email address will automatically be collected).

Adding Users to Your Moodle Classroom

It appears there is a problem with the course template, so you may not be able to add users according to the directions below. If you do not see an “Enroll users” button in the “Participants” page of your course, then please use this form to “Request Users be Added to Your Moodle Classroom” (you must be logged on to your GCC email account and your email address will automatically be collected).

Faculty can add “Contributors” (who have all teacher permissions, except seeing grades) or “Observers” (who have all student permissions, except seeing grades). Following the steps for “Adding Users to Your Moodle Classroom” which is on our installation of Moodle (you will be promoted to log on if necessary). If you need to add another as a teacher, please add them as contributors, then email Gary Ackerman () and specify the short name of the course and the user to be given the teacher role.
