Student employment opportunities
The Library has a limited number of College Work Study positions available. Once a student has been declared eligible for the College Work Study Program by the Financial Aid Office, an interview can be arranged by seeing the Circulation Supervisor. Work Study Students work mainly in the Circulation Department, although they may be asked to help out in other areas of the Library.
Duties
Duties include the following: attending the Circulation desk, retrieving Reserve materials, checking materials in and out using the on-line circulation system, shelving books, reading shelves, shifting the collection, shelving and shelf-reading periodicals, and helping patrons use the resources of the Library.
Qualifications
Requirements include the ability to work well with
the public, computer skills, and initiative. Reliability is very important.
Other assets needed are good communication skills, accuracy, the willingness
and ability to stand for long periods, and the ability to push heavy book
trucks and shelve and shift books.
