Nursing students participate in HeartWalk May 16

May 5, 2010

The Greenfield Community College Nursing Class of 2010 in collaboration with the American Heart Association is participating in the Pioneer Valley HeartWalk on Sunday, May 16, 2010.  This is a satellite walk with the Pioneer Valley walk that will take place the same morning in Springfield, MA.

Registration begins at 9am at GCC's main campus, One College Drive, and the walk begins at 10am rain or shine.  You may also pre-register at www.pioneervalleyheartwalk.org.  The walk will consist of 1, 3, or 5 laps which is equivalent to 1, 3 or 5 miles.  Participants will collect pledges and all the proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.

The American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. These diseases, the Nation's No.1 and No.3 killers, claim more than 865,000 American lives a year. Thanks to all our walkers, donors and volunteers who have accepted the challenge to help fight heart disease and stroke. We cannot achieve our mission without each one of you!
