Applied lesson registration and scheduling

Your weekly lesson meeting time is scheduled directly with your instructor after the first week of classes.  We rely exclusively on your MyGCC contact information.  Your contact information will be forwarded directly to your instructor.  Please double-check that your current contact info is listed with the college, and that you are registered for the correct course and section (instrument).

Applied music lesson arrangements

Students should register for either MUS 130 (1/2 hr. per week) or MUS 230 (1 hr. per week) lessons on an instrument.  Instruments are noted in the section letter for each course.  For example, a one-hour guitar lesson is listed as MUS 230D.  Except for drum kit and piano, all students are required to own a playable instrument for lessons.

Once registered, students should confirm that their contact information on record with the college is correct.  At the end of the class ‘add period’- one week into classes- each instrumental teacher receives a list of student assignments with student contact information.  Students are contacted by their teacher(s) directly soon after and lessons begin immediately.

Lessons are held in the practice rooms (drum kit in the music room when possible) and must be scheduled according to the instructor’s availability.  Due to the delayed start each semester, the lesson counting for the first week is made up later in the semester.
