Title III Grant for Advising: Strengthening Student Success through Improved Student Information Management Services and Advising
GCC's Title III grant is an initiative to to improve student success through two major strategies. First, GCC will develop a new technology-based student information management system, which will include user-friendly electronic access to student transcripts, degree audit systems, electronic early warning of failure notification, goal-setting systems, career and interest inventories, new student orientation, and electronic registration, among other features. Second, once the SIMS is in place, faculty and staff advisors will be trained in making use of the data available to provide proactive, responsive, and thorough advising and intake services to students so that GCC student outcomes will improve to the national average.
