Checking your GCC student e-mail account

LOG IN if you already know what to do.

Important! Your username is your last name, the first initial of your first name, and the last four digits of your student identification number, all entered with no spaces. For example, browns1234.

Your domain is "academic." Where you enter the domain name may differ depending upon your browser and operating system. Read on for more information, or contact Academic Computing at extension 1368 for further support.

Please read the following instructions for checking your GCC email on the web. If you're already familiar with the process, click the link to the right to connect directly to our mail server.

1.   Connect to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) as normal

2.   Connect to the World Wide Web using Internet Explorer or Netscape

3.   In your address bar, type the following: https://stuemail.gcc.mass.edu/exchange

4.   Press ENTER

5.   You'll now see the following dialog box:

Windows XP users

6.   Windows XP users type "academic" followed by a back slash and your user name in lowercase (the same username you use every day) next to "User name." Windows 2000 users type "academic" in lowercase in the field labeled "Domain."

7.   Type your password  

8.   Click OK

9.   When you are done working with your e-mail, be sure to click the "Log Off" icon.
