Textbooks
Because we are an institutionally run college bookstore, our goal is to provide responsive, affordable educational materials and excellent service to the students and the community. We try to control textbook costs by only marking them up enough to cover our expenses which include freight, staff, equipment, cost of returns and a predetermined amount of college support. College support funds go towards improving facilities/services and supporting College programs benefiting students, faculty, staff and guests of Greenfield Community College.
HOW MUCH WILL TEXTBOOKS COST?
Book expenses vary depending on how many courses you are taking and the types of requirements for those courses. You should expect to spend between $300 and $500 a semester for books and supplies if you are carrying a 9 to 15 course credit load, and there is NO SALES TAX charged to books purchased at the Greenfield Community College Bookstore.
WHEN TO GET MY BOOKS?
Textbooks are not available for sale in the bookstore until late registration for the fall and spring semesters and the first day of classes for summer semesters. Textbooks will not be issued without a copy of your class schedule.
USED BOOKS
Used books are priced 25% below new book prices at GCC. We try to provide used books whenever we can get them. See Buy Back for more information on used books.
DISTANCE LEARNING CLASSES AND SATELLITE COURSES
If you are taking a distance learning class from home and would like to purchase the textbook without having to come on campus, you can order your book online from this site. Books are usually made available online one week before the start of classes. Please have your class schedule available when placing the order.
