Perkins and Nursing Loans
Nursing, Perkins
and Stafford Loans are available for eligible financial
aid GCC Students. The College administers its own Nursing
and Perkins programs. Stafford Loans can be
applied for through the Financial
Aid Office and are funded through local lending
institutions.
Student Loans are usually received at the College in 2
separate disbursements each semester. Late approvals or incompletely
processed loans will be received later in the term.
Regardless of any financial aid grants that may have been
awarded in addition to a loan, all costs owed to the college
will be deducted from the loan and any balance will be mailed
within approximately 2 weeks from the receipt of the loan. Students
should direct questions regarding loan applications to the Financial
Aid Office. Student that go into their grace period for
Perkins and Nursing Loans will be billed directly from Greenfield
Community College. Payment can be made payable to GCC
and mailed to either the Perkins Loan Program or the Nursing
Loans Program, The Business Office, Greenfield Community
College,
One College Drive, Greenfield, MA 01301.
Students with unpaid loans will not be permitted to register
for future classes. Furthermore, after diligent
efforts have been made to collect on delinquent loans, including
turning accounts over to a collection agency, the College
may also refer the debt to the Commonwealth's INTERCEPT program
which intercepts payments to the debtor by the Commonwealth
as well as state income tax refunds being issued to these
individuals.
