Release date: October 11, 2004 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEGCC "People on the Move"Richard Logan has been hired by Greenfield Community College as Campus Police Officer. Logan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix, and two Associate Degrees, one in Military Science and the other as an Instructor in Technology, from the Community College of the Air Force. Logan comes to GCC from Bay State Medical Center, where he worked in security. "I think GCC is an exceptional place to work because the community is so diverse," says Logan. "We have students fresh out of high school all the way up through people who are returning as part of a new career. Probably the biggest reward in this position is getting to meet these people. I love to talk and find out where they're from and what they're about." Curtis Mitchell, Instructor of Math, comes to GCC from Florida, where he taught at the University of South Florida at St. Petersburg. He has a B.A. from Carleton College in Minnesota, and an M.S. from Yale University. "Part of what attracted me to the GCC Math Department was their belief that every student can be successful in math at some level,” says Mitchell. "I am impressed by the faculty's flexibility and willingness to try different approaches to math that will resonate with each student.” Curtis Mitchell grew up in New Hampshire and lives with his wife in Easthampton.
