This talk will provide key insights about laborers in agriculture in the United States. It will briefly introduce three main topics: (1) justice-related issues facing farmers and laborers on farms; (2) how history and policy have impacted them; and (3) the opportunities and leverage points for change in improving justice outcomes.

Workshop presenter Becca Berkey has been at Northeastern University in the Office of City & Community Engagement since February 2013, where she serves as the Director of Community-Engaged Teaching & Research. Becca earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Butler University, a Master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Miami University, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from Antioch University New England.
