DESCRIPTION:Nursing Professor Karen Bayne delivers a talk "Learning in Publ
 ic: Trading Perfection for Vulnerability in the Classroom and Beyond." Cre
 ating space for uncertainty and confusion in our lives feels like rowing a
 gainst the current of our online world. The flowing algorithm and “chat
 ” are ready to supply highly specific and ready-formed answers for us to
  consume and toss back into the river. Emotions like fear and anxiety can 
 interfere with our desire to participate in conversations in learning and 
 working spaces. In our time together\, we will peek at some of the obstacl
 es that prevent us from learning in public\, whether in the classroom or t
 he world. We will think about how we got here and share some ideas for ove
 rcoming those challenges by exploring them in public!
