SUMMARY:Practicing Challenging Conversations
DESCRIPTION:Jonathan Mirin\, co-founding Artistic Director of Piti Theatre\
, leads this workshop. Sometimes we need to have challenging conversations
—but when do we get to practice them? This workshop provides an opportun
ity to try out various approaches to your "conversation in training." Part
icipants will also have the chance to apply "systems thinking" to the conv
ersation which can lead to seeing issues through a wider lens that feels l
ess about "personalities" and more about the big picture. After watching s
ome strategy modeling\, we will practice in pairs. Free and open to the pu
blic. Registration required\; priority given to GCC students\, faculty and
staff.\n\nSupported by a grant from the Educating Character Initiative at
the Program for Leadership and Character at Wake Forest University\, with
generous support from Lilly Endowment Inc.\n\n[gravityform id="93" title=
 "false" description="false"]\n\nJonathan Mirin is an award-winning actor\,
playwright\, essayist\, educator and activist who has spent nearly three
decades working in theater and film while offering workshops about the way
s art and life can support each other to varied groups including social wo
 rkers\, business school students\, lawyers\, historians\, consultants and
 business leaders.
