Add a Link to Annotate with

To use the annotation tool, the course teacher must add a link to an external tool.

To add  page to your course so that it can be annotated with

  1. Open your course in one tab and the page you want to annotate in another.
  2. Copy the URL of the page you want to annotate.
  3. In your course, turn on editing under the gear menu.
  4. Click “Add an activity or resource.”
  5. Select “External tool,” then click “Add.”
  6. Give it a meaningful name.
  7. Choose “ Annotation” which is a pre-configured tool.
  8. Click “save and return to course.”
  9. Click to follow the external link.
  10. Paste the URL when prompted.

Notice the page opens in a new tab. To return to your course, click the tab in which it is open.
