Robert & Cynthia Stowe Scholarship

Robert & Cynthia Stowe Scholarships are awarded to women in Franklin County for whom college attendance is otherwise unlikely and who have a background that includes issues of domestic violence. The scholarship will be paid to the GCC Bursar’s Office with proof of enrollment.

  • In a 250-500 personal statement, please address the following:

Tell us about what who you are and what has shaped you
Skills, interests, personal qualities, motivations, formative experiences or identities
    Future goals—life, work, and educational
Your larger purpose, interests, hopes and dreams, motivations, curiosities (we know these may change in the future—you’re not writing a contract!)
  • GCC students receive scholarships through the Foundation because many very generous people want to help you succeed in college and have a bright future. Our donors are very interested to know in what way(s) their scholarship might help you achieve success.

Please write a short thank-you which will be shared with your donor if you are awarded their scholarship. Explain your future goals, how receiving an award will help you reach them and how an award is meaningful to you.
