OverviewThis is an exciting internship opportunity to work with Sowing Solutions Permaculture Design & Education based out of Shelburne Falls, 15 minutes fromGreenfield. Sowing Solutions provides ecological design services toland stewards and home owners in the Pioneer Valley, and also offers a Permaculture Design Training and Certification Course twice a year in Western MA. This internship is a study in the design, implementation, and maintenance tasks typical to the spring season for garden design and installation in this region. Sowing Solutions has a focus on planting edible, medicinal, and beneficial plants. This internship is also a study of some of the behind the scenes operational tasks for the Permaculture Design Course. This internship will be alongside mentor Kay Cafasso, a leading educator of permaculture in the northeastern US, as well as with our garden crew manager and permaculturist, Christopher Dean.
Interns will assist the designers and gardeners at our project sites
in the Shelburne Falls, Greenfield, Conway, and Buckland area. Sowing Solutions staff will guide interns with the ongoing garden maintenance

Required intern qualifications
Must have reliable transportation and be available to work at Sowing
Solutions for a half day/ 4 hours each week.

• Ability to work as a team member.
• Ability to work outdoors with garden tools.
Desired outcomes of internship
Interns will assist permaculture designers and educators, and learn by experience.
* Interns will gain knowledge about design decision and the design process from onsite work in the gardens and landscapes that have been designed by Sowing Solutions.
Compensation: Compensation: $825 voucher for the Sowing Solutions Permaculture Design Certification Course (this course runs April-June and is offered over a total of 3 weekends. Course dates are: April 12-15, May 17-19, and June 21-24. The total cost of the course is $1325, so the $825 would reduce your tuition and meal fee to $500.
