The GCC Research Symposium celebrates exceptional student work from this academic year. Students will present capstone projects from participating courses, as well as independent projects undertaken in any GCC course, internship, study abroad program, or clinical/off-site placement. All GCC students are welcome to present on any college-related work or experiences.
Students may participate in one of 2 ways:
- Poster Session: students present a digital or printed poster of their own design over a 45 minute time slot. There will be space for printed posters, tabletop posters, and digital/e-posters. We recommend using the standard 36″ by 48″ format but can potentially accommodate other sizes. For more information about poster sessions, see this great guide from Colorado State University.
- Oral Presentation: students give an oral presentation, with or without slide accompaniment, for 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of questions from the audience.
Our Research Symposium falls the week after the UMASS Undergraduate Research Conference. We invite (and encourage) students to participate in both events.

The 2019 Research Symposium took place Friday, May 3rd, from 12 to 2 pm. Poster sessions took place in the library solarium and concurrent oral presentations were held in C307, located just outside the library.
