GCC Quick Admit Events to be held in Northampton

June 28, 2019

Greenfield, Mass – Greenfield Community College (GCC), in partnership with Greenfield Savings Bank (GSB), announces two Quick Admit Events to be held over the summer at the GSB location on King Street in Northampton.

The first Quick Admit Event will be held on Friday, July 26th, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the GSB conference room of one of their Northampton branches, located at 325 King Street. Admission and Financial Aid staff will be on hand and available to answer any questions regarding program offerings, the application process, and financial aid. An additional Quick Admit Event will be held on Friday, August 16th, 2019, during the same time at the same location.

Quick Admit events give prospective students, and their families, the opportunity to learn about the numerous unique program offerings GCC has to offer, including new opportunities in the Medical Assistant Certificate Program at a Northampton location, a new certificate program in Music Recording and Production, and a new Associate in Science Degree in Adventure Education. They can also learn about the numerous Liberal Arts Degrees that allow students to transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Students will have an opportunity to complete the online admission application and financial aid form at the event.

The Quick Admit Events will offer a focused information session for GCC's nationally-accredited Medical Assistant Certificate Program, now also being offered as a Saturday Option in Northampton. The program offers students the opportunity to complete the certificate in as little as nine months, meeting every other Saturday in Northampton from 8:00 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. The program begins on September 14, 2019 and goes until May 16, 2020. In addition to the new weekend program in Northampton, GCC continues to run a section of the Medical Assistant Certificate Program in Greenfield that also offers flexibility with a hybrid option of online and face-to-face class meetings. Whichever option students choose, the Medical Assistant Certificate program is designed for students to train to become a medical assistant, receiving 160 hours or more in a clinical experience practicum, readying them to enter the workforce upon completion. Students are also eligible to take the CMA exam upon completion of the program. Professional tutoring is available for all students, and the program is financial-aid eligible.
