GCC Welcomes Two New Board Members Posted on December 18, 2024 December 18, 2024 Greenfield Community College (GCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of two distinguished leaders, Jenni Lanoue and Shonda Pettiford, to its Board of Trustees. Their extensive backgrounds in health care, education and organizational leadership will bolster the college's commitment to serving its diverse student population and enhancing community engagement. Jenni Lanoue is a long-time resident of Franklin County and a proud GCC alumna, having graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 2003. With nearly two decades of experience at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, she currently serves as the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Patient Care Services, overseeing multiple nursing units and leading initiatives that enhance patient care and safety. Jenni is dedicated to her community and looks forward to contributing her expertise to GCC, a place she credits with launching her successful nursing career. "I am honored and excited for this new opportunity to sit on the Board of Trustees for the college that kicked off my career in nursing," said Lanoue. "I am eager to help shape the future of GCC and support our students in achieving their goals." Shonda Pettiford brings a wealth of experience in operations and communications. Currently serving as the Director of Operations at Five Colleges, Inc., she has a strong background in strategic planning, human resource management, and collaborative initiatives across multiple higher education institutions. Shonda's previous roles include CEO of Gravity Switch and Director of Communications at the University of Massachusetts Amherst Honors College. Her commitment to community service is further exemplified by her involvement with the Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts, where she has served as Board President. The addition of Jenni Lanoue and Shonda Pettiford to the Board of Trustees reflects GCC's ongoing commitment to enhancing governance through diverse perspectives and expertise.
