{"id":539,"date":"2026-05-20T08:32:43","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T12:32:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gcc.mass.edu\/xnursing\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=539"},"modified":"2026-07-08T07:44:19","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T11:44:19","slug":"course-exemptions","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/www.gcc.mass.edu\/nursing\/docs\/handbook\/general-policies\/course-exemptions\/","title":{"rendered":"Course Exemptions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Exemptions for nursing courses are not permitted.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students are eligible to request an exemption for non-nursing courses in accordance with the GCC&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gcc.mass.edu\/registrar\/transfer\/\">transfer policies<\/a>. Information regarding exemption and which courses are accepted can be found in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gcc.mass.edu\/registrar\/transfer\/clep-exams\/\">CLEP exams<\/a> and under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gcc.mass.edu\/testing\/currency-exams\/\">currency exams<\/a>. A request for a general education course exemption must be accompanied by documents to support the request and submitted for approval to the Office of Admission.<\/p>\n<p>Students seeking an exemption for non-nursing courses must contact their advisor for guidance on eligibility and the course exemption.
