Green\ufb01eld Community College recognizes and supports service learning under the umbrella of civic engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Students are required to complete four (4) hours in the fall semester and six (6) hours in the spring semester for the academic year. Community health concepts are woven into all of the nursing courses. Nursing students engage in meaningful community-based projects that bene\ufb01t both the student (learning) and the community (service). Students are required to re\ufb02ect on the nature of their service within the community and how their service might contribute to a more permanent resolution of community health concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Student learning outcomes related to Service Learning in the ADN program are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recognizes a need and commitment to improving health outcomes in local communities.
