to find the perfect slender stalk.
\nShe watches while it sleeps<\/p>\n
then turns itself,
\nhides itself in a green and golden cocoon<\/p>\n
and dreams of transformation.
\nShe thinks about the mountain stream<\/p>\n
that starts as a trickle, and gathers speed as it responds to gravity
\nand over time, days, months, years, decades, centuries,<\/p>\n
softens and wears that mountain down to stones.
\nHuman time is more limited, which is why the rush.<\/p>\n
Human time
\nhair turns gray, shoulders stoop, teeth fall out, skin sags, eyes dim,<\/p>\n
an aging mind
\nwhen memory becomes imagination.<\/p>\n
