Rain waters my garden

\nthe rest from a farm north of here
\nwhere I made a goat-gate and fixed a trough

We make a life, try to make it
\nlast. Make a book, a podcast.
\nPaint Paris with streetlights at night
\nin slow rain the one time
\nwe were there.<\/p>\n
We sculpt the heart, shape
\naortas of marble muscle,
\nchambers where the blood flows.
\nPut love into it, hate, loss \u2014
\nmake hard work visible, leave it
\nout in the rain under trees
\nand rot, worn stone,
\nhands of water and mud.<\/p>\n
Oh child of my child,
\ntell me I can make it better.
