The most beautiful thing I had ever seen
\nWas the angels rising up
\nGrabbing hold, tightly of branches and twigs of hope.
\nRushing by, sometimes at lightening speed
\nGone, in the flash of a gun shot.<\/p>\n
We sit or stand, banded together on mountains of weight
\nWaiting for something to change, surrounded by noise,
\nChemical sprays, flash bangs, swirling smoke.<\/p>\n
Our resolve grows tired,
\nWe are weary, our hearts heavy.
\nThe angel floats through, touching each courageous soul
\nInfusing within them, and filling of their cup
\nCommunity, soul food.<\/p>\n
Small acts of generosity, kindness, presence, patience,
\nBinding and cementing people together
\nCreating survivors and warriors
\nSending that angel to the next group that
\nNeeds something they can grab on to, tightly.<\/p>\n
To fill their cups and lighten their hearts,
