\nwith resilient, they push
\nthrough concrete, effort
\nof growing
\nno effort at all. To spread out
\nroots of; to anchor
\nheart of; so delicate<\/p>\n
leaves spanned out\u2014flower petals
\nwith no need to bloom.
\nTo exist in this place:
\nHome, everywhere & nowhere; growth,
\nritual & quotidian wander.<\/p>\n
And the vibrant green urge
\nof You: Spell cast once
\na thousand years ago by hands
\nwith a face
\nsomething like my own.<\/p>\n
Unruly, the best of them: Wiry limbs inch
\ntoward air vents,
\nlight poles & pipes wrapped round
\n& round & round; snakey vines squeeze life
\nfrom copper & steel, attempt to break them
\ndown to the familiar\u2014raw elements
\nwhen they knew each other
\nin the earth.<\/p>\n
