If you believe you have life experience that is equivalent to a GCC course, you can fill out the Petition for Prior Learning form in your MyGCC portal. You will be asked to identify which course(s) you are seeking credit for and be asked to attach supporting documentation. This typically includes a written statement describing the relevant experience, and may also include items such as a resume or letters of recommendation from prior employers.<\/p>\n
This petition will be reviewed by the Registrar\u2019s office; depending on what is provided, you may be asked to either meet with someone and\/or provide additional information\/documentation. This information will then be provided to the appropriate department chair for their assessment. There is a $50\/credit fee<\/strong> for this assessment which must be paid in advance.<\/p>\n If the department chair approves the petition, the credit will be added to your transcript.
