The Department of Adventure Education & Outdoor Leadership offers credit and non-credit classes in rock climbing, outdoor emergency care, backcountry travel and more!
Since 1980, GCC has been training highly-motivated adult learners as outdoor leaders and adventure guides in the only accredited one-year program of its kind in the U.S., and now in a two-year degree program!
Adventure education students earn five industry-standard certifications upon completion. Certification classes are offered à la carte to the general public, too!

Greenfield Community College has been preparing students to enter the outdoor adventure education and recreation industry as qualified professional leaders for over 50 years. Our flagship associate degree in Adventure Education and certificate in Outdoor Leadership have been designed so that our courses can reach more students in more ways, in alignment with trends and developments in outdoor recreation and adventure tourism while maintaining our high standards of excellence.
