Since 1980, GCC has been training highly-motivated adult learners as outdoor leaders and adventure guides in the only accredited one-year program of its kind in the U.S., and now in a two-year degree program!

Adventure education students earn five industry-standard certifications upon completion. Certification classes are offered à la carte to the general public, too!

Greenfield Community College has been preparing students to enter the outdoor adventure education and recreation industry as qualified professional leaders for over 50 years. Our flagship associate degree in Adventure Education and certificate in Outdoor Leadership have been designed so that our courses can reach more students in more ways, in alignment with trends and developments in outdoor recreation and adventure tourism while maintaining our high standards of excellence.

One-Year Intensive Certificate
Earn a certificate in Outdoor Leadership in 9 months as a full-time member of our selective cohort
Individual Classes
Take our adventure education classes—for credit or credit-free one at a time to best fit your schedule and interests
Industry Certifications
Earn, renew or update a nationally-recognized certification for college credit or non-credit based upon your needs.

We maintain a job board as a service for our adventure education students and we are committed to helping our outdoor industry partners connect with our graduates!
