Her Face Lit

Her face lit up the sky
Hovering there
In full control of tides and time
Nothing so banal as day
But night
And crops
And blood
And seasons
All that matters
All that mothers

Thomas Ratté is a Massachusetts native who attended both GCC and UMass as a visual artist. He has emerged recently with poems about love, loss, politics, family, and the natural world.
