For this project I really wanted to create a visually simplistic piece that would still be intriguing and overall strong composition wise. Unfortunately, I have restarted this assignment several times and never really achieved what I was trying to do. I wanted to stick with basic shapes but it never really felt dynamic enough so I eventually played around with matrix extrude again to add some variety and texture to my forms.

As for the lighting, I used area lights and added a cool blue and a warm red tone to create a nice visual appeal to the surrounding area. If I had to be honest I would say this assignment is about halfway to where I want it to be, but I spent far too much time tinkering with other ideas and wasn’t able to fully realise my vision for this.

I would have to agree that you didn’t achieve your goal with this assignment. Your color palette and lighting work well, though you could have used some shadows to ground your objects and create more visual appeal. In the end, this reads more as being about, a fairly limited, interior space than a combination of the two.
