EMT Basic & Intermediate classes
The EMT-Basic
This is an entry level course that can be taken as credit or credit-free. It's the first step in the EMS career ladder and is a six-credit course. At the end students are eligible to take the state EMT-Basic exam and go to work on ambulance services or volunteer-based emergency services.
The EMT-Intermediate (AEMT)
This course is an option for Basic EMTs who are interested in further their EMS skills to a more advanced level. There is a classroom portion as well as a clinical and field time requirement. Most students complete these requirements within nine months and are then eligible to take the certifying exam.
