2010 GCC Annual Fund Campaign Co-Chairs Lee Wicks and Michael Nelson '01 '03  announced that a generous friend of Greenfield Community College has offered the GCC Foundation an extraordinary opportunity to increase support to GCC. The anonymous donor will donate up to $100,000 in matching gifts to the College.

Here's how the $100,000 Challenge Grant works:

• Current donors: The generous donor will match any Current Donor who increases his/her gift by 10%. For example, if you gave $100 last year, and give $110 this year, your actual gift would be $220 after the match.
• New donors: The generous donor will provide a 2-to-1 match for New Donors (including previous donors who did not give last year). That's huge! A $100 gift from a new donor raises $300 for GCC.

Commenting on the Challenge, Campaign Co-Chair Michael Nelson '01 '03 said, "Community members who have been waiting for the right moment to make a donation to the GCC Foundation should wait no longer. This 2:1 opportunity is huge, and offers the potential for the College to make an incredible difference in the lives of many of our friends and neighbors in the community. Now is the perfect time to join the many, many people who already make a donation and change the lives of people every day."

Lee Wicks agreed, "A challenge is great. It not only asks people to rise to the challenge and give the most generous gift they can; it also maximizes the gift. It's something we can rally around. I am so very grateful to the anonymous donor who made this possible."

"The $100,000 challenge gift speaks to the understanding that this donor has about the importance of education and the commitment to access as well as excellence. The matching gift provides the leverage for the entire community to be a part of that commitment."

Funds raised by the GCC Foundation will be used to support students and programs at the College. A gift of any size is appreciated.
