Join GCC in our fifth annual celebration of first-generation college students! Stop by the Core Lobby to show your first-generation pride and celebrate your peers. Get a scavenger hunt game card – the first 10 completed game cards will win a prize! Meet 1st Gen staff, faculty and student leaders and get 1st gen swag, fill out a “We are 1st Gen” postcard and grab a copy of “First Gen: A Memoir” by Alejandra Campoverdi (complimentary for all 1st Gen students, while supplies last.)

A first-generation college student is often described as one whose parents or guardians do not have a four-year degree when the student starts college, but a 1st Gen student could be anyone who self-identifies as the first in their immediate family to attend college.
