Graduation & Commencement FAQs Related to COVID-19

Greetings GCC Class of 2020,

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic we are unable to hold an in person commencement ceremony as previously scheduled.  We will instead provide a virtual commencement ceremony. Greenfield Community College’s 57th Annual Commencement Ceremony will include pre-recorded remarks from GCC President Yves Salomon-Fernandez, David Ram, Professor Emeritus of English and Nicole McGrath, the GCC Class of 2020 Student Speaker. The commencement ceremony will be available for viewing on our GCC YouTube link beginning Saturday, December 12th at 12PM. We look forward to celebrating your accomplishments.  In order to be included in the pre-recorded ceremony, please do the following:

  1. Pick Up Caps & Gowns: Graduates are to drive up to the front of the Core building to pick up their cap & gown, tassel and printed program during the following times:
  • 9am-6:30pm Weds. November 18
  • 9am-5pm Thursday November 19

Please review the included size chart and be prepared to state your size when you arrive. If you are not able to make any of the times listed above, please email to make alternate arrangements.

  1. Submit Photo: Upload a photo of yourself wearing your cap & gown and tassel on at before December 1 by 4pm.  Each student who uploads a photo will be represented in the ceremony. If you would like to have your name announced without submitting a photo, please email
