Welcome to GCC! Orientation gives you the inside scoop on the tools, resources and tips you need to navigate college systems and make the most of your education. It's also a great way to start to get to know the community and some of the amazing people you'll work with along the way! Get a headstart with our orientation resources, or read on to find out more. Who needs to register for orientation? The three parts of Orientation are mandatory for new students or those returning after three or more years, who are enrolled in a degree or certificate program, and are planning to carry six or more credits this semester—but all new students are encouraged to attend. How do I register for Orientation? As soon as you enroll in a fall or spring class, you'll get an invitation to register for Orientation via email or text. Part 1: Secrets to Success—Get set up for success with an introduction to the online and campus tools and services that you'll need to navigate college life. You'll learn about academic advising, where to find critical forms and information and habits of a successful student! If you need support logging into our web-based platforms for the first time, we'll help with that too! Offered online. Part 2: GCC 101—Learn all about GCC resources, culture and connections. Learn who's who and what's what and how to avoid some common pitfalls—your questions answered and fears relieved by our fabulous Orientation Leaders! Available online and in-person. Part 3: How to Moodle—Learn the basics of our online learning platform, Moodle, which is critical for both virtual and in-person classes. Available online as a both a self-guided or student-led workshop. What else can I do to get ready for GCC?
