Creative Writing in the Age of AI

Creative Writing in the Age of AI

Join us for a presentation and discussion with Stephanie Chang-Cuello, a software engineer and Prose MFA student at UMass–Amherst, who draws on her experience in technology and creative writing to reflect on the intersection of artificial intelligence and literature. She will discuss how AI is reshaping not just software and code, but also writing and writing pedagogy, examining questions like: Can AI replace the next generation of great writers or write the next great American novel? What will AI replace, and what will remain uniquely human? And how should, or shouldn’t, we teach creative writing in an era of AI? Sponsored by the Honors Scholar Program and the Department of Social Sciences. Free refreshments!
