The Greenfield Community College Office of Student Leadership & Engagement is located in the Core of the Main Building room C216.

Join us, in partnership with MassHire Franklin Hampshire, for a Health Occupations Job Fair on Monday, Feb. 2 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

The fair will feature 20-30 employers and organizations with job openings in the Franklin/Hampshire county region. Pre-registration is NOT required. This event is FREE, and all are welcome to attend!

The GCC Foundation has been awarded a two-year grant to support new workforce training aimed at improving perinatal health equity in Massachusetts. “This funding allows the GCC Foundation to support innovative workforce training that responds directly to regional needs,” said Executive Director of the GCC Foundation Alexis Page. Join us Jan. 28 from noon-1 p.m. for a Gallery Talk with photographer Rachel Portesi. She will discuss her current exhibition "The Nature of Things," on display in GCC`s South Gallery from Jan. 26-Feb. 27.

Portesi`s work explores the symbolic nature of mushrooms and examines themes of mortality, regeneration and interconnectedness through early photographic methods, AI altered tintypes and time-lapse sequences, incorporating funji as both material and metaphor.

GCC`s offices will be closed today in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but we hope you`ll join us from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with dance, arts and crafts, education, music and food.

The event is FREE and open to the public—featuring MLK Legacy Story Hour for younger children (free books for the first 20!), Freedom Dance from Senegal with Abdou Sarr, a screening of the documentary Eyes on the Prize, a performance by Twice as Smart youth dance troupe and much more!

Thanks to grant funding awarded across Massachusetts public colleges and universities to support students with severe disabilities, GCC MAIPSE Coordinator Emily McClintock has been working to build the WINGS (Widening Inclusive Networks for Growth & Success) Program and recruit potential candidates. Through the program, students with intellectual disabilities, severe autism spectrum disorder and other significant developmental disabilities will be able to participate in undergraduate academic courses, internships, work experiences, extracurricular activities and on-campus student life alongside their nondisabled peers.

The artist Rachel Portesi is known for her cross-genre practice rooted in analog photography. Her solo exhibition "The Nature of Things" will be on display in GCC`s South Gallery from Jan. 26-Feb. 27.

"The Laramie Project" is a play by Moisés Kaufman, revolving around the 1998 murder of openly gay University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard. Over 60 characters, with actors playing multiple roles. The production is open to everyone, with flexible casting for all ages and genders—no experience necessary, and you don’t need to be a GCC student to participate!
